Fashion Photographer

Featuring Photographer Lola
QA: I hate Vogue. Why?

LL: Why do you hate Vogue?

QA: I think it’s boring and repetitive and they lack originally.

LL: Ok well let me rephrase.  Maybe Vogue in the 50s,
you’re right. It’s not as loose as it used to be.

QA: What are some of your favorite magazines?  What’s on
constant rotation for you? You better say fashion Q&A!
*laughs*

LL: *Laugh* well I love The Face but they are out of
business.  But to read, I love Vanity Fair.

LL:  You know, I really want to be.  I’ve been longing to find a mentor or a photographer to work for
and really be inspired by but it just really hasn’t happened.

QA: What would it take for you to be inspired by someone else’s photographic work?

LL: I am inspired by other photographers work.  But, do other photographers inspire me?  No

QA:  I suppose there is a difference.

LL: For me to be inspired that photographer has to be the total package.  They need to be creative,
they need to want to sort of teach in some way and give back and a lot of photographers are very
selfish and they don’t want to give back.

QA:  What do you think they should give and to whom?

LL: That’s a good question too…when I say give back I mean there are photographers that are just
tyrants and they’re real greedy.  You know you see 1st assistants, 2nd assistants, interns slaving
away and there’s no help up the ladder. There’s no share of the pie.  There’s nothing.  And I don’t
believe in that.

QA: So how many assistants do you have and what would they say about you?

LL: None!  But I do have 2 interns who I hope would say that I’m pretty rad and a nice kind of girl.

QA:  OK final question Miss Lola…where do you see yourself and your work in 5 years?

LL: Well I see myself hopefully on a beach with some sun and I see my work out there you know.  I’d
like people to know who I am.

LL: Thank you for your time Miss Jazmin.

QA: No Thank you Miss Lola!!

*both laugh*
