London Bridges might be falling but resort wear isn’t!
Duro Olowu the Nigerian born designer sent fall
spiraling into vivid color! Olowu has been interested in
fashion, color and texture since a very young age. He
was encouraged to sketch his designs and learn how
great clothing is crafted. He gave up a budding legal
career to become a fashion designer. Cheers to him
for going after his dreams and obtaining them with
such greatness.
I am normally one for more subdued colors and a lot
of detail. In this case I have to throw that right out the
window. Olowu has totally changed my mind. These
dresses are draped beautifully and the colors create
an unbelievable splash for the eye. No matter where
in the world you might be you will always be chic.

What can one say about Rick Owens Fall Ready to Wear
2008 Collection? WOW could sum it up. Paris has never
looked so dark and de miex! Yet again Rick has defied
convention by sending down the runway looks that
remind you of the Apocalypse. A well styled and dressed
apocalypse at that.
Year after year Rick sends looks down the runway that
make people stop and pay attention. Why do I love this
season? It’s avant-garde and down right beautiful. The
designs remind you of sculptures, amazing buildings
and of fabled art. I love the use of dull colors like olive
green; knee high leg warmers and shearling that could
make any fashion lover’s heart skip a beat.
Rick Owens was born and raised in Southern California.
While studying at Parsons Design School, he opted to
take a pattern-making course. This set into stone the
making of a phenomenal designer. He now over sees
his own lines as well as working as the Artistic Director
at Revillion. Everyone from Courtney Love to Madonna
praises and wears his designs.

Trussardi has been in existence
since 1911. The originally
manufactured travel bags,
handbags, leather goods and
leather jackets. How far they have
come! Trussardi has taken their
company to a whole new level.
When the models came down the
runway in Milan with their RTW Fall
08 collection the applause started.
family member and head designer
was right on. The designs are
crisp, beautifully draped, and
luxurious and are not something
you see everyday.
Leather, fur and a color palette to
die for reigned supreme. I am
fairly certain that if I were a woman
these designs would be helping
me down the red carpet. I love
them because of the detailing.
Rouched jackets, leather studded
dresses and fifties inspired
cocktail dresses from Trussardi
will rock your world. Who else
would pair a deep blue leather
bodice with a ballerina like skirt?
You are sure to be the bell of the
ball stepping out in Gaia’s designs.
