Lucy B
A cosmetic line with a conscience

It’s no secret that we are living in an era in which beauty is regarded as a must. Lucy Badock-Sacchi's cosmetic line, Lucy B., is a breath of
fresh air for women seeking to enhance their beauty the natural way. Harnessing the power of organic compounds and spinning the
elements of nature into cosmetic gold, her line is setting the trend in the world of organic beauty today. Badock-Sacchi has a unique
perspective; originally from London she has spent fifteen years in the beauty business, and is certainly aware of the challenges women face
finding truly natural products on the market.
Fashion Q&A had the privilege of picking the cosmetic creator's brain about what trends we should look out for this Spring/Summer.
According to Lucy we all need to be “fresh, bronzed and pink”. We also like the fact that all her products come in earth friendly recycled
packaging. It is time to shop green, ladies. Badock-Sacchi dished that she cannot live without her lines, "Franginapi bronzer for a bit of color
and a Shu Uemura lash curler". Having established herself as celebrity makeup artist she is also a fashionista in her own right and states
that every woman should have, "A great pair of jeans that look great and feel comfortable, also a good pair of well designed shoes can make
or break an outfit".
When Badock-Sacchi isn't traveling for work, she splits her time between Los Angeles and Australia, finding inspiration in movies, particularly
retro old movies, the New York Times, Art galleries, near the water or with her dog. With a line that focuses on being responsible, sustainable
and eco-conscious, Lucy muses, "We can all really learn a lot from each other". Lucy B. Cosmetics formulates potions that make us feel
positive, strong and beautiful, I'd say we all could find something to learn from her.

FQA: Your cosmetic line is produced with many of the finest organic compounds on the market. What inspired you to go green with your makeup line? Have you always used organic
products in your work?
LUCY: I have always loved natural remedies and was introduced to yoga mediation and healthy foods by my mother. As there were lots of make-up artist ranges out there that were not
natural, as a make-up artist I consistently heard of reactions, people wanting to omit chemicals from their lifestyle so it was an obvious niche in the cosmetics market that was waiting to
boom.
Looking for a new bronzer is such a daunting task these days, there are so many choices. What makes Frangipani Bronzing Shimmer Oil different than other bronzers on the market?
LUCY: It’s made from all organic oils coconut, jojoba & sunflower plus the color is from bronze color Mica a mineral. It’s a body face and hair hydrator. We sell out each time we put it in a
store. It’s in a gorgeous bottle and even though it’s organic we sell it at a great price $42. I still love powder ones and we are working on an organic powdered bronzer also.
In your eyes, what is the biggest beauty slip up that most women often make? How important is the use of natural products in keeping a youthful and radiant appearance?
LUCY: The Biggest beauty slip up in my world is that some women use too much make-up and forget to smile and be happy. I believe it is a choice. I definitely think cutting down on how
many chemicals we ingest/ or put on our skin will help us look more youthful and radiant and KNOWING that all beauty campaigns are either fake lashes, re-touched skin, body shape&
hair extensions. After being there and working on them myself I see how it’s all done. I think on the one hand it’s great to produce an image that people can aspire to but sometimes it a very
unrealistic goal! I have a string of beliefs we nurture & add to consistently at Lucy B and one of them is Lucy B believes we are all beautiful inside and out. What we believe for long enough
sometimes becomes our reality. That’s what having a dream is all about, manifesting it on a physical level.
FASHIONQANDA.COM: What city do you think is currently the world's eco-cosmetic capital?
LUCY BADOCK-SACCHI: Having lived in Sydney Australia for many years and now Los Angeles, Both are very eco-cosmetic. In Australia we produce
many eco-cosmetic ranges that are really becoming out there the forefront of what we buy here in the USA especially in California.
FQA: Who are your favorite fashion conscience designers and why?
LUCY: I LOVE designers in fashion & art that inspire. For me they include Stella McCartney who does what she says in a cool new way... Love her CARE
range and that she does not use leather. An architect from Italy called ? Can’t remember his name! He did a brilliant building in Noumea that was
designed so that when it was winding played music.. It was so very cool, subtle yet thoughtful.
You are a very stylish woman. What are your thoughts on the trend that “green” is the new “black”?
LUCY: Well it’s true.. But black will always be cool too! I am a true believer that we all want to help impact the planet, our lives and other peoples karma
in a positive way. I think each person should do what they can and be passionate about it even if its 10/ 20/ 30 or 100% of your lives. I believe as do
many others we WILL make a difference. The power of the people in the world has become VERY evident on EVERY level.. It’s the people’s revolution in
every way! It feels great to be a part of this movement as every person can be by choosing to buy or produce products that are green. We are choosing to
produce more products locally to help lower the transporting of products around the world. While I admit it is very challenging, its possible.
