Beauty Blessing
Mara Hoffman Resort 2012 @ MBFW

GET THE LOOK: Pretty Plaits
Step 1: Create a middle part and divide hair into sections.
Step 2: Prep each section with TRESemmé Thermal Creations Curl Activator Spray ($4.99), then curl
using a 1" barrel curling iron and pin to the head.
Step 3: Once all sections are completed, take out the pins and brush the curls with a paddle brush.
Step 4: Flip your head upside down and spray TRESemmé Fresh Start Dry Shampoo ($5.49) throughout
hair for added texture, lightly combing the product through with your fingers.
Step 5: Flipping your head upright, divide hair into two sections down the middle of the head, and begin to
create two French braids, starting at the top of the head to the base of the neck.
Step 6: From the base of the neck, create two fishtails braids, and secure them with clear elastics,
leaving some length on the ends loose.
Step 7: Lightly rough up hair at the top of the head, pulling a few pieces loose with your fingers, and finish
by lightly applying TRESemmé No-Frizz Secret Smoothing Créme ($4.75) in a backwards motion.
Hoffman's collection celebrates life and spirituality and the makeup palette and concept designed by
Lottie reflects this ideal. The Hoffman woman is not afraid to be strong and feminine all at once and
dares to show her unique individuality.
BEAUTY BREAKDOWN: Beach Blessing
Face: The skin was modern with a glowing complexion. Lottie applied MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Invisible
Cover Foundation ($40) to give the models a flawless canvas. Next, Lottie created beautiful flushed
cheeks using MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Microfinish Blush ($25) and MAKE UP FOR EVER Mat Bronze
($24.99).
Eyes: Lottie created a "blessing" like smudge between the eyes using neon orange MAKE UP FOR EVER
Wet Make Up ($19) for a strong look. The brows were sculpted straight, almost masculine in shape, and
the eyes were lined with heavy black using MAKE UP FOR EVER Khol Pencil #1K ($17). She also added a
thick coat of MAKE UP FOR EVER Smoky Lash Mascara ($22).
Lips: The lips boasted next to nothing color using MAKE UP FOR EVER Glossy Full Couleur #10, a sheer
peach ($18).

New York-based designer Mara Hoffman is known for her colorful,
tribal, bohemian-breeze like esthetic. Hoffman’s Resort 2012
Collection presented for the third consecutive year at Mercedes-Benz
Fashion Week Miami (MBFW), stayed true to her roots and
referenced her recent explorations of Egyptian ruins, strolls down
colorful street bazaars and journey to Mexico. The collection unveiled
new bold original prints, an expansion of fabric offerings and an
unforgettable beauty statement sure to set the summer season a
blaze.
To create a beach ready do and glowing complexion Hoffman
partnered with Elsa Canedo for TRESemmé and makeup artistry by
Lottie for MAKE UP FOR EVER. The collections exotic prints and
designs evoked a very spiritual, ethnic vibe, so Canedo, the lead
hairstylist for the show, created two earthy fishtail braids to match the
inspiration. The overall style had lots of texture and looked effortless
without being too polished.
