The Sexy Underside of The Femme Prep
Is Explored by Carven This Fall/Winter 11
balance in producing looks that come off as prim without the baggage of propriety. One way through this was with the cinch below the bust/hem above the knee silhouette, like on a gray
double-breasted coat cinched just so, with a brown fur trim going down the outside of the sleeves. That heavy covering on the top, not so much below-look spoke of a girl that probably
manipulated her uniform into all sorts of just-this-side-of-appopriate play back in her school days.
Everything seemed to be aiming high. The cinched below the bust coats and tops, even an orange patent leather mini, were cut to give way to high-waisted lampshade shaped skirts and
pilly shorts. But showing some leg wasn't the only way the Carven girl showed the intimate carnal knowledge she keeps stashed away with her debutante pearls. A long-sleeve red tartan
dress had a built-in bustier and gold lace under each protruding cup. Another dress had crescent cut-outs, this time, above the breast. Henry also made a great case for evening-wear, with
a black one-sleeve wrapped dress with, naturally, an up-to-there slit.
Carven is still relatively new, but once it starts gaining even more steam, we can easily see a bevy of young Hollywood A-listers (the whole cast of Gossip Girl immediately comes to mind)
flocking, scratching, biting to get to these -Remember! Prim, but not proper, clothes.
