A Coat, A White Turtleneck & A Cigarette
Pant - A Chic Trifecta Courtesy of Celine

Come fall - you better have one or two fresh white turtlenecks in your wardrobe. If Max and Lubov Azria's stellar showing in New York with their BCBGMAXAZRIA collection didn't sway you
(well, it was a bodysuit in their case, but the turtleneck notion remains all the same) then leave it to Phoebe Philo to make it a down-right must, that it be a Celine turtleneck. When women
see these clothes, they're not going to go just for the kitten heels, or the hammered vinyl coat, or the Chesterfield - they're going to want the whole look, turtleneck included. What Phoebe
Philo has done with her revitalizing touch at Celine has been to extract and harness the most accessible strands of American opulence into clothes women want to wear. From the moment
Philo took the helm - the idea of what the Celine woman looks like had been firmly cemented. Fashion is not just about creating and selling clothes, but about dressing a person in a
character and Celine can certainly do that.
Thusly it comes as no surprise that Philo's Fall 2011 collection was more an expansion and toning of strengths, which is nothing to complain about either. No need to mess with a good
thing. Philo's soft spot for a sexy pair of cigarette pants popped up here as well, this time with a slightly titillating ankle zipper. The outerwear once again took center stage - some in sarouel
proportions, redingotes in woolen felt, hammered vinyl jackets and those mid-weight Chesterfields, cut slim enough to wear all fall and straight into winter. The most sensual touches were
varying insets of leather, found on the waistband of pants, paneled over silk tops and even in intersecting strips down cocktail dresses.
The closer we become acquainted with the newly established codes of the Celine brand, the readier we are to regard the line as one of our new fashion stalwarts. The amount of women
clawing to get their hands on anything Celine these days should be proof enough. This latest winning endeavor shouldn't hurt Philo's cause either.
