For the Trussardi 1911 centennial, Milan Vukmirovic seemed to want to mirror the house's longevity into his Fall 2011 collection. It was about having a perpetual relevance, with pieces that
have always been chic and always will be. Leather and outerwear are part of the Trussardi 1911 DNA, but Vukmirovic has proved himself to be a sucker for animal prints and they're here
again in skirts and tops, although to a dressier than gauche effect. Although we loved the fur embellishments on the outerwear and the daywear, the highlights were the monochromatic
pieces, like a red moleskin hooded coat, but especially an A-line dress that came in both black and in camel, which was cinched with a clasp at the waist. Vukmirovic was one of the original
co-founders of Paris' Colette concept store, so it should be quite interesting what he comes up with when he opens a Trussardi 1911 in New York City. This is one hot export that chic New
Yorkers will be chomping at the bit for.
