Swarovski & Cameron Silver Bring the Sparkle to Rodeo Drive

Swarovski & Cameron Silver present ‘Hollywood High Prom - Class of 1962’
Last night Swarovski gave Tiffany’s a run for their money in their own back yard with the preview of their Spring/Summer Collection with Decades Inc. owner Cameron Silver. The event was
held at the Beverly Hills Hotel and set the scene of a ‘Hollywood High Prom’ which transported guests, including the fabulous Dita Von Teese, back to the 1950‘s whilst sipping on pink
cocktails.
Pieces taken from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection ‘Swing, Sing and Shine’ were paired with stunning vintage garments from Cameron Silvers Decades Inc. collection. This included,
upon entering, Pierre Cardin Haute Couture which saw a decade ball gown with flower detail matched with a stunning romantic looking necklace and bangle of which raspberry pink and
silver crystals were arranged into clusters.
The Swarovski collection provided a combination of modernity and vintage, filling the room with accessories in beautiful shades of pink and lilac. Key statement pieces featured lilac crystals
interwoven with ribbon, alongside crystals in antique shades of pink which were formed into bouquets of flowers.
However, in contrast to the beautiful pastel colours, there were also very timeless and elegant pieces in which the crystals were placed in beautiful chokers, tiaras and necklaces or
combined with pearls for earrings. These were displayed upon mannequins dressed in elegant vintage ball gowns such as a pink organza evening gown with embroidery by Dior.
Alongside this was the Atilier Swarovski for Spring/Summer 2012 collections which presented collaborations with designers such as Juan Carlos Obando, Zaldy, Konstantin Kakanuis
and Philip Cragi. Each collection demonstrated inventive and beautiful ways of incorporating the crystals into jewelry designs, with inspirations drawn from mosaics to climbing equipment.
The jewelry featured ranged from the dynamic, sharp edged, futuristic shapes offered by Zaldy to a Helmut Newton inspired collection from Juan Carlos Obando which saw the crystals set
into chain link accessories.
The prom themed event was a great success and demonstrated a winning combination of a beautiful Spring/Summer collection by Swarovski paired with a stunning array of ball gowns
from Cameron Silver. And if delicious cocktails, appetizers and stunning fashion eye candy weren’t enough, each guest left with a wonderful Swarovski gift bag featuring one of the rings
from the collection. Spoiled!
