New York and London Fashion Week were both filled with collections that played with a 3D trompe l'oeil, but with her Fall 2011 womenswear collection for Marni, Consuelo Castiglioni went
a step further and gave us a 4D experience. The catwalk, the backdrop, even the coat and the dress that opened the show were covered in the same print. It was a chic projection and the
collection as a whole, with its tropical hot pinks and verdant greens, not to mention the playful tribal prints, helped to put a little fun back into the fall season. Deep plunge lines, open-toed
shoes and leather clad gloved-to-the-elbow ensembles? It's fun to see the looks and imagine story-lines for these girls. We can see some ingenue rolling out of bed, putting on the first
pieces she finds in a hurry out the door - but, she's also a girl lucky enough to have a fabulous wardrobe. Marni also had some of the best hair in any runway all season long. We've never
seen Arizona Muse look so good. The hair looked a bit coitus-tossed, a little bit naughty in the Upper East Side, which we can't really resist. We'd like to have a cocktail with Castiglioni's
chic (even when she doesn't mean to be) Marni girl any day.
