On June 1, Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai of Vena Cava will be hosting their first ever online garage sale. Some truly bizarre treasures are up for grabs by the design duo, whose clients include Natalie Portman, “Gossip Girls” Blake Lively and top model Liya Kebede. Vena Cava fans will be able to get their hands on items like “Bad Dates,” a 1980s paperback; a 1970s coffee mill and nut grinder with unique graphic design; a vintage cream suede YSL safari jacket; a misspelled Vena Cava friendship bracelet; a 1982 Volvo station wagon; Lisa Mayock’s birth certificate, social security card and self esteem (sold as a set); a Vena Cava mixed CD; a biker jacket from Contempo; a 1960s yellow circular phone; Vena Cava clothing and other one-of-a-kind oddities.
All items will be available to view and purchase starting June 1 on venacavanyc.com and vivavenacava.blogspot.com. Vena Cava has partnered with Subports, a company who developed a program which allows buyers to make quick and secure purchases via text message. Once you see an item you like, you will follow the instructions by texting the code attached to that item. It’s as easy as a simple text message.
The sale will start on June 1 and runs through June 30 or until all items sell out.
